Competition Soaring Simulator
Mb - CD-SERVICE
Condor: The Competition
Soaring Simulator is designed to
recreate the ultimate experience of competition soaring on your PC.
A lot of attention was put in to create an environment which would create an
immersion of real competition flying. This means that the aerodynamics and
weather physics were in focus of the development. The result is amazingly real
feel of flight in all flight regimes and weather conditions which challenges a
real soaring pilot on a competition day.
Amazing feel of flight due to the advanced
flight dynamics model
Because of the attention to the
flight dynamics model, Condor transforms you into a real ASW27, ASW28, Discus 2,
Ventus 2, LS6, LS8, Nimbus 4 and ASW22 in competition challenges.
If that is not enough for you, you can strap yourself into MDM-1 Fox and test
yourself in wild aerobatics! You can also configure your glider with water
ballast, setting center of gravity and even use your own made paint jobs.
Realistic weather model for
all aspects of competition soaring
The weather model accurately
simulates thermal generation and their dynamics. Condor's weather model also
dynamically takes into account the terrain for an accurate airmass flow which
generates turbulences, rotors, waves, venturi effects and more.
Of course, you can either use one of the preset weather conditions or manipulate
various variables which have impact on the weather generation.
Multiplayer support up to 32
Condor: The Competition Soaring
Simulator, as name suggests is designed for a competition flying in mind. The
result is a dedicated multiplayer support which enables you to compete with
other pilots Worldwide!
Ability to record and analyze
After your flight you can save
the replay and flight track of your flight to analyses your flight and even
export your flight track in .IGC file format for an external viewing.
You can exchange these replays and flight tracks with other players and use them
to either compare the flying or even race against them in the virtual sky via
Real time NMEA output
NMEA is a standard communication
protocol for transferring navigational data (position, speed, heading, bearing,
etc.). Today, every GPS hardware features NMEA output to communicate with
handheld devices or laptops trough serial port. Condor uses this protocol to
enable you to use your own handheld devices and software for navigation.
Condor supports high resolution
mesh terrains with ability to add user created sceneries. In the release version
you can fly over Slovenia which is made in 90 meters resolution. Combine that
with the fact that this is an Alps country, it is perfect for the soaring
From FAI rules to innovative
Condor specific additions.
Accessible to players of all
Condor has beside its flight
school lessons also a number of helpers like visual turn points, thermal
indicators, icons for other players planes, etc. which help player shallow the
step learning curve of flying.
For example, in flight school you can actually practice yourself boxing the wake
in tow like you would do it in real life! This is something which was never done
before on the PC!
Native TrackIR support
TrackIR support enables you
maximum immersion with a natural head movement.
Forcefeedback until now was
never really done with a realism in mind. Most simulators used it as a 'movie'
effect. This however changes with Condor, as it was designed with forcefeedback
joysticks in mind for the ultimate experience.
Condor simulates forces on the stick directly from its advanced flight dynamic
model and controlling trimmer actually moves your stick like in real life!
